Whose Voice Are You Hearing

John 10:27: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

How can we hear Jesus* voice? He will speak to us through the words of the Bible, through His Creation, through the Holy Spirit, through our conscience, through the circumstances of our lives, through Meditation and through other Spirit-filled believers and Biblical Pastors and teachers. There are multitudes of ways to drown out His communication. Satan wants us to listen to Him rather than God. He wants us to hear the voice of our flesh, the voices of unrepentant sinners and the voices of the world. Often before I turn on the TV I ask myself do I want to hear what Jesus wants me to hear or do I want to hear what Satan wants me to hear?

If you are not studying the Bible you are not hearing the voice of Jesus. If you are not meditating on the Bible you are not hearing the voice of Jesus. If you are not attending a Biblical church you are not hearing the voice of Jesus. If you are watching secular TV you are not hearing the voice of Jesus. If you are watching and listening to unbiblical preachers and teachers you are not hearing the voice of Jesus.

And if you are not hearing the voice of Jesus you are not following Him and if you are not following Him, you are not hearing His voice. The hearing is incomplete until and unless you are following.

John 10:27: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Pay close attention to the two appearances of the word AND in the verse above and the three truths Jesus gives about His sheep. My sheep hear my voice, AND I know them AND they follow me.

Matthew 7:23: And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

1 Corinthians 4:16: Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Ephesians 5:1: Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

Philippians 3:17: Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

1 Thessalonians 1:6: And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: 2:14 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:

Hebrews 6:12: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

1 Peter 3:13: And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
